This blog and your health revival start….now.

This site was developed and designed with my family and friends in mind. But no worries, even if we haven’t met – you are always welcome here! When brainstorming ideas for the foundation of this website, I kept coming back to the words “health revival” and “nutrition education”. Of course, was not an available domain name (anyone who has purchased a domain name knows that every idea you will ever have has been bought – and negotiations to purchase it start at $200). After a few hours (and a few sips of bourbon), my brainstorming team – my husband, parents, and brother – came up with Raise A Little Kale.

This vegetable pun not only puts a smile on my face, but it is fitting to my personality in many ways. I’ve been raising hell since 1985 and I have no plans on stopping now. Have you wanted to lead a healthier lifestyle? or have you put off dieting and exercising for another day? Have you wanted to naturally lower your blood pressure? Or do you just want to learn more about the fundamentals of nutrition? Check out a new recipe or two? Then it’s time to Raise A Little Hell, er, Kale and start your health revival. Fight for it. It’s time to raise your nutrition intellect and get that fire burning in your motivation station (your brain, duh).

We get one body. It’s time to take care of it.

To summarize my bio, I’m a Registered Dietitian, married to a military man and am a mom of two boys. As a dietitian, the number one question I am always asked is “can you make me a food plan?”

Can I be blunt? Me, making you a meal plan isn’t going to make you lose weight. It isn’t going to change your eating habits. Me, making you a meal plan isn’t going to light that fire.

What is? Raise A Little Kale is!

Lindsey is my name and education is my game. I’m not going to make you a food plan. I’m going to give you the tools to make your own. Now I’m about to get all cliché on you and quote an old proverb:

“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and feed him for a lifetime.”

Today, you are the man and the diet plan you have been asking for is the fish…or something like that.
